New multi-factor authentication solution for maximum protection against identity theft

OpenLimit and Fujitsu combine tried and tested security software with hand vein scanner

Baar, 27 November 2014. OpenLimit SignCubes AG ( and its technology partner Fujitsu Technology Solutions GmbH ( laid the foundation for the rollout of secure authentication processes with PalmSecure and truedentity at the Fujitsu Forum 2014. The innovative product offers a multi-factor authentication solution for highest security requirements.

Secure and flexible complete authentication solution

In the course of the strengthening of the strategic partnership that was agreed in March this year, the expert for information technology and telecommunications based business solutions, Fujitsu, entrusted OpenLimit to  integrate its hand vein scanner PalmSecure into the two-factor-authentication solution truedentity. Within the framework of the technical cooperation, the two companies are now working on a joint product development in the field of secure authentication processes. On 19 and 20 November they will present the first results at the Fujitsu Forum 2014 in Munich.

Security technology truedentity combined with biometric solution PalmSecure

The new product Fujitsu PalmSecure ID Match enables companies of any size to optimally protect their physical and virtual access, data and payment transactions. The reliable and easy-to-use multi-factor authentication solution combines vein-scanning technology with one smartcard and, optionally, with a PIN as well. The software PalmSecure truedentity extends this protection by securing data transmission channels and the data transferred via these channels. The combination of both technologies offers a very high level of protection against identity fraud and at the same time provides a high degree of user-friendliness.

Reliable protection against identity theft

truedentity is a two-factor authentication solution for clear online identification of persons and machines. The scalable product is based on the technology of the new personal identity card (nPA) and the corresponding Technical Guidelines of the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). Depending on the specific demands, truedentity supports a variety of authentication processes with different security requirements. Through the interaction of the established security technology and biometric data, the two cooperation partners provide a state-of-the-art solution for reliable protection against identity theft.

Successful strategic and technical cooperation

“The cooperation with OpenLimit in recent years has shown that OpenLimit is a highly reliable partner in the field of innovative IT security technologies,“ says Thomas Bengs, head of Security Solutions at Fujitsu Technology Solutions GmbH. “We are delighted to jointly offer our customers a complete, secure authentication solution consisting of hardware and software from a single source in the future.“

“Fujitsu PalmSecure is a revolutionary hardware. Due to the combination with truedentity we are able to establish new standards on the market and to offer our customers the highest level of security,” adds Marc Gurov, CEO of OpenLimit SignCubes AG.

The solution is expected to be available from March 2015 in the EMEIA region and its global rollout is planned in the foreseeable future.
